Baseball Game Preview: Catonsville Comets vs. Hereford Bulls

The Catonsville Comets will venture away from home to face off against the Hereford Bulls at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hereford will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Catonsville extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Comets put the hurt on Lansdowne with a sharp 16-3 victory.

Brayden Bates made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Dylan Gross was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Billy Armenis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Catonsville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Hereford made easy work of Western Tech & Environmental Science on Monday and carried off a 7-1 win. The Bulls haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Catonsville's record now sits at 9-7. As for Hereford, their record is now 18-2.

Catonsville might still be hurting after the 15-4 loss they got from Hereford when the teams last played back in March. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
