Smith Center is 8-2 against Republic County since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Redmen will head out to take on the Buffaloes at 5:00 p.m. Smith Center will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Smith Center sidestepped Hoxie for a 2-1 win.

Smith Center had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-17, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Republic County earned a 2-0 victory over Pike Valley on Saturday. The Buffaloes haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Republic County easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-14.

Smith Center's record is now 13-7. As for Republic County, their record now sits at 7-15.

Smith Center beat Republic County 2-0 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redmen since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
