Baseball Recap: Steel Valley Beats Mckeesport for Their Third Straight Victory

Steel Valley put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the McKeesport Tigers as the Steel Valley Ironmen made off with an 11-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Ironmen also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Jorden Smith was a standout: he scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Logan Thomas was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Steel Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McKeesport only posted an OBP of .440.

Steel Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Steel Valley will square off against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart at 5:30 p.m. on March 26th. As for McKeesport, a feisty cat fight will be fought as McKeesport Tigers take on Carlynton Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
