Leon won the last time they faced Wakulla and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions blew past the War Eagles 3-0. The Lions not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 29th (when they won 3-0).
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-16.
Riley Knipple paced Leon's offense, picking up nine kills. Knipple got some help from Riley Perezluha and her 14 assists. Perezluha was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Despite the loss, Wakulla still got an impressive performance from Mackenzie Hurley, who had eight digs and one assist.
Leon's victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 13-11. As for Wakulla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-6.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Leon will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. As for Wakulla, they will welcome Rickards at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
