Football Recap: 11 Straight Home Wins for Carrollton + How To Watch

Carrollton won the last time they faced Columbia and things went their way on Friday too. The Trojans blew past the Eagles 41-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Trojans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Eagles are ranked 140th).

Cameron Wood had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. CJ Cypher was another key player, throwing for 213 yards and a pair of TDs on only 16 passes.

Carrollton's run defense was locked in: Columbia could only muster 2.2 yards per carry. The Trojans didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.3.

Carrollton's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.5 points over those games. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrollton will head out to square off against Rome at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Douglass at 8:00 p.m. on September 5.
