Soccer Game Preview: Livermore vs. Foothill

The Livermore Cowboys will venture away from home to challenge the Foothill Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Livermore, who comes in off a win.

Livermore was handed a five-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Dougherty Valley. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Livermore's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Dougherty Valley are ranked 701st).

Despite a strong season so far, Foothill has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They fell 3-1 to Monte Vista on Thursday.

Livermore is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Foothill, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2-1.

Everything went Livermore's way against Foothill in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, as Livermore made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
