Grand Valley is 0-3 against Jefferson Area since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Grand Valley Mustangs will look to defend their home court against the Jefferson Area Falcons at 5:30 p.m.
Grand Valley couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were the victim of a tough 67-47 defeat at the hands of Edgewood on Friday.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jefferson Area beat Lakeview 29-24 on Monday.
Jefferson Area's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mia Contenza, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennidie Rogers, who scored 9 points.
Grand Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Jefferson Area, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Grand Valley came up short against Jefferson Area in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, falling 51-39. Can Grand Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
