Basketball Recap: Van Buren Comes Up Short

Van Buren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 101-17 loss at the hands of the Hodgdon Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Hawks are ranked 24th).

Van Buren's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Hodgdon, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Van Buren is taking a road trip to challenge Madawaska at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Madawaska's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Hodgdon, they will host Easton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
