Basketball Preview: West Prairie Cyclones vs. Brimfield Indians
The West Prairie Cyclones will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Brimfield Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Prairie will be strutting in after a win while Brimfield will be coming in after a loss.
West Prairie is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Rushville-Industry. The Cyclones came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 54-45 on Tuesday.
West Prairie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Payton McGrew, who went 8-for-11 to rack up 17 points and six boards. Madelynn Sullivan was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 13 points.
Meanwhile, Brimfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Princeville on Monday.
West Prairie took a serious blow against Brimfield in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 69-24. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cyclones were down 45-8.
