Baseball Preview: Milford Eagles vs. Loveland Tigers

The Milford Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Loveland Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Milford didn't have quite enough to beat West Clermont and fell 3-2.

Louden Hilliard was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Milford saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Buchanan, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Milford didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with nine strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Clermont only tossed three.

Meanwhile, Loveland can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Winton Woods 12-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Loveland.

Will Sullivan looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Alex Proano-Raps was incredible, going 3-for-3 with four RBI and a stolen base. Christian Juram was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Milford now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Loveland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
