Football Recap: West Essex Falls to NV - Old Tappan in First Game of Season

West Essex unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the NV - Old Tappan Golden Knights on Friday, falling 34-14. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Golden Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

West Essex and NV - Old Tappan should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Knights (ranked 44th) will meet Wayne Hills (ranked 144th) on Friday. Meanwhile, NV - Old Tappan will challenge River Dell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (17 vs. 106).
