Basketball Game Preview: Gordon Lee Trojans vs. Chattooga Indians

Gordon Lee hasn't had much luck against Chattooga recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Gordon Lee Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Chattooga Indians at 7:30 p.m.

Gordon Lee is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Monday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting LaFayette an easy 57-34 victory. The Trojans were down 51-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Chattooga had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past the Dragons with points to spare, taking the game 74-59. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Dragons are ranked 555th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chattooga has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points per game. As for Gordon Lee, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Gordon Lee suffered a grim 80-57 defeat to Chattooga when the teams last played back in January of 2016. Can Gordon Lee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
