Soccer Recap: New Hope Takes a Loss

New Hope came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Hokes Bluff Eagles, falling 7-1. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 5-0.

New Hope dropped their record down to 6-5-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Hokes Bluff, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Hope will square off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Hope has given up an average of 4.2 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Hokes Bluff, they will challenge Etowah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
