Softball Game Preview: Addison Panthers vs. Hanover-Horton Comets

Addison is 1-9 against Hanover-Horton since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Panthers will head out to challenge the Comets at 4:00 p.m. Addison has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Addison couldn't beat Michigan Center on Friday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the sixth inning. The Panthers lost 18-9 to the Cardinals.

Addison saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caylee Campbell, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that Campbell has brought in this season. Another was Ella Miller, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Grass Lake hit Hanover-Horton with a 12-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets came up short against the Warriors, falling 17-4.

Ava Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Hanover-Horton's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for Addison, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Addison might still be hurting after the 21-0 defeat they got from Hanover-Horton in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
