Softball Game Preview: Myrtle Beach Seahawks vs. Socastee Braves

For the second straight game, Myrtle Beach will face off against Socastee. Myrtle Beach will head out on the road to challenge Socastee at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Myrtle Beach turned things around against Socastee on Monday. They skirted past the Braves 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Seahawks have posted since March 11th.

Trinity King and Shianne Needle did most of the damage at the plate: King scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Needle went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Madalyn Thompson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Myrtle Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Socastee's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Myrtle Beach, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-7.
