Basketball Preview: Champion Golden Flashes vs. Struthers Wildcats
Champion is 3-0 against Struthers since November of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Champion Golden Flashes will challenge the Struthers Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Champion will be strutting in after a victory while Struthers will be coming in after a loss.
Champion is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Brookfield 54-19. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Golden Flashes have posted since February 1st.

Kennedy Caldwell and Addie Warzala were among the main playmakers for Champion as the former went 6 of 11 on her way to 16 points in addition to five blocks and four steals and the latter almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Warzala a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley McClurg, who posted five points.
Meanwhile, Struthers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 46-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cardinal Mooney.
Struthers' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Champion, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Champion was able to grind out a solid win over Struthers when the teams last played back in February, winning 46-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Champion since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
