Basketball Game Preview: Reed-Custer Comets vs. Peotone Blue Devils

The Reed-Custer Comets will face off against the Peotone Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Reed-Custer was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-39 to Herscher. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Peotone waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 46-39 win over the Bulldogs. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Blue Devils' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 117th).

Peotone is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Reed-Custer, their loss dropped their record down to 8-17.
