Basketball Recap: Hilton Head Prep Dolphins vs. Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles
The Hilton Head Prep Dolphins came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 46-33 win over Hilton Head Christian Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hilton Head Prep also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Hilton Head Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Britschge, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Billy Barron, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Hilton Head Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Harrison James skinner scored 12 points along with two steals. James skinner has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Epstein, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Hilton Head Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilton Head Prep will take on the Golden Warrriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. John Paul II is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Savannah Country Day will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 278th in Georgia, while the Eagles are ranked 137th in South Carolina).
