Basketball Recap: Van Comes Up Short

After flying high against Kemp last Friday, Van came back down to earth. The Van Vandals fell to the Athens Hornets 52-47. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-54 back in January.

Van dropped their record down to 20-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Athens, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season.

Van does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Athens, they will face off against Pine Tree at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
