Basketball Recap: Ladue Horton Watkins Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Ladue Horton Watkins has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lafayette Lancers on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Rams came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Lancers are ranked 126th).

Ladue Horton Watkins' loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2. As for Lafayette, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ladue Horton Watkins will challenge University City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lafayette, they will venture away from home to square off against Kirkwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lafayette is facing Kirkwood at the right time seeing as Kirkwood is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
