Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Charles Catholic walked away with it. They never let Haynes Academy get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Wednesday. Considering the Comets have won 15 contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Charles Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Haynes Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

Looking ahead, St. Charles Catholic will face off against Archbishop Hannan on Saturday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Comets surely won't give up without a fight. Haynes Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
