Basketball Game Preview: Mead Mavericks vs. Erie Tigers

Mead is 8-2 against Erie since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Mead Mavericks will host the Erie Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Erie came out on top against Monarch by a score of 57-45. That looming 57-45 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Erie's win came from a few key players Mead will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Garrett Owen, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Christopher Smith, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

Erie's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Mead, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mead has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 29.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Erie struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
