Meadville scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They received a blow as they fell 65-47 to the McDowell Trojans. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacoby Thompson, who threw for 246 yards and four TDs on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 62 yards. Jordan Lawrence was another key back, rushing for 205 yards and one score while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.

Meadville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for McDowell, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meadville will venture away from home to face off against Sharon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McDowell, they will head out to take on Harding at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
