After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lakin, Southwestern Heights was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 victory over the Stanton County Trojans. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 53-48 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Stanton County lost, don't look at David Crane. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Crane is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gerardo Robles, who posted seven points along with six boards and five steals.

Southwestern Heights has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points over those games. As for Stanton County, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern Heights will head out to square off against Sublette at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stanton County, they will venture away from home to face off against Springfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Stanton County surely won't give up without a fight.
