Basketball Recap: Ankeny Takes a Loss

Ankeny lost against Valley back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ankeny Hawks fell to the Valley Tigers 64-60. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Tigers are ranked 15th).

Ankeny now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ankeny will host Waukee at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Waukee will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Ankeny surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valley, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Urbandale at 7:45 p.m. on January 24th.
