Belleview Christian picks up 14th straight win on the road

Recap: Belleview Christian Bruins vs. Dawson School Mustangs

The Belleview Christian Bruins entered their tilt with the Dawson School Mustangs with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Belleview Christian took down Dawson School 62-46 on Thursday. Given Belleview Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Dawson School is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Belleview Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Ewing, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Ewing is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Garrett Owen was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with two blocks.

Despite the loss, Dawson School still got an impressive performance from Peter Ernst, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ernst has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Parker, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Even though they lost, Dawson School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Belleview Christian only pulled down two offensive rebounds.

Belleview Christian's win was their 14th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Dawson School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Belleview Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Lone Star at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dawson School won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against SkyView Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. SkyView Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 483 points over their last seven contests.
