Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Rushford-Peterson

Rushford-Peterson waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

While Rushford-Peterson won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15, 25-17.

Torryn Schneider paced Rushford-Peterson's offense, picking up 16 kills. Schneider were helped by Kayla Magin and Grace Ekern, who contributed 20 assists each. Finally, Ava Helgemoe kept Rushford-Peterson's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Rushford-Peterson's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Plainview-Elgin-Millville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Rushford-Peterson will be playing at home against Goodhue at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Plainview-Elgin-Millville, they will venture away from home to face off against Lake City at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
