Recap: Johannesburg-Lewiston Cardinals vs. Alcona Tigers
The Johannesburg-Lewiston Cardinals lost against the Alcona Tigers back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The contest between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Johannesburg-Lewiston falling 53-34. They have not had much luck with Alcona recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Alcona can attribute much of their success to Jacob Renchenski, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Borsvold, who scored 13 points.
Johannesburg-Lewiston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Alcona, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Tawas Area the next time they take the court. Johannesburg-Lewiston will head out to face Tawas Area at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Alcona will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
