Volleyball Recap: Lowndes Victorious

After losing to Northside the last time they met, Lowndes decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Vikings walked away with a 2-0 win over the Patriots on Thursday.

Emma Grace Godwin paced Lowndes' offense, picking up seven kills. Godwin got some help from Kalli Ferguson and her 12 assists. Dara Mason controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Northside's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mckenzie Durbin, who had 21 digs and one assist. Lacie Watts was another key player, getting 21 assists and five digs.

Lowndes' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Northside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Coming up, Lowndes will host Suwannee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northside, they have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Veterans on the 14th.
