Football Recap: Austin Mustangs vs. Kashmere Fighting Rams
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pasadena, Austin was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Kashmere Fighting Rams out 28-26.
Joel Torres had a dynamite game for Austin, rushing for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Torres didn't just play on offense: he also made eight total tackles and defended two passes.
The victory got Austin back to even at 1-1. As for Kashmere, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Austin will head out to face off against Westbury at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Austin is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for Kashmere, they are taking a road trip to take on Worthing at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
