Basketball Recap: Shaw Beats North Side for Their 11th Straight Win

Shaw extended their winning streak to 11 games thanks to a huge performance from Demetrick Price Jr. The Shaw Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Side Gators on Wednesday, sneaking past 37-34 thanks in part to Price Jr, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was his 11th in a row with at least ten points.

Shaw pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for North Side, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-10.

Shaw will head out on the road to square off against Leland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Shaw is facing Leland at the right time seeing as Leland is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for North Side, they will take on Cleveland Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Side will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Cleveland Central will have lost four straight heading into Friday's contest.
