After flying high against South Plantation last Friday, Somerset Academy came back down to earth. The Somerset Academy Panthers fell just short of the Doral Academy Firebirds by a score of 1-0 on Monday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Somerset Academy was without their leading scorer, Ella Provost-Heron, in Monday's game. With Provost-Heron sitting this one out, Sophia Valdez got some extra time on the pitch (54 vs. her season average of 29.3).

Somerset Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Doral Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2-1.
