Baseball Recap: Green Hope Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

While Green Hope's win against Apex wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons skirted past the Cougars 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted since March 4th.

Jackson Wall looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Green Hope let Mason Dean and Ryu Fukuyama run wild. Dean got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Fukuyama got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. What's more, Dean posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March. Sam Weinraub was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Green Hope always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Green Hope pushed their record up to 10-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Apex, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

Green Hope is taking a road trip to take on Apex Friendship at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. Apex does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
