Cheshire proved they can win big on Friday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the West Haven Blue Devils 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won four in a row.

Alex Convertito spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Bennett Crerar was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Cal Battipaglia also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Cheshire's record is now 13-6. As for West Haven, they moved to 12-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Cheshire has already played their next matchup, a 6-2 victory against Northwestern Regional on the 21st. As for West Haven, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-2 win against Norwich Free Academy on the 20th.
