Baseball Recap: Empire Comes Up Short

Empire blew Walters out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Walters got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of Walters by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against Walters since April 3, 2021.

Bryce Shaver put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Shaver was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Shaver wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dax Hecox, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Empire and nudges their season record down to 10-4. As for Walters, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Empire didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Dibble on the 30th. As for Walters, they have also already played their next game, an 8-3 loss against Binger-Oney on the 28th.
