Baseball Game Preview: Western Guilford Hornets vs. Ragsdale Tigers

Western Guilford hasn't had much luck against Ragsdale recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hornets will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Western Guilford has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Western Guilford is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Ragsdale, falling 13-0.

For Ragsdale's part, Ryan Hendricks was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Carter Dulin was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Ragsdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

The win (which was Ragsdale's seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Western Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.
