Basketball Recap: Morehead Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Morehead lost against Eastern Alamance back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers were beaten by the Eagles 96-63.

When it comes to explaining why Morehead lost, don't look at Cavin Corum. Despite the final result, he shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. Corum is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Taevion Peterson, who posted ten points.

Eastern Alamance's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Murphey led the charge by going 8-for-16 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Christian Hester was another key player, as he made all 7 shots he took for 17 points.

Morehead's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morehead will venture away from home to take on Northeast Guilford at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastern Alamance, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against South Granville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
