Baseball Game Preview: Cullman Bearcats vs. Madison Academy Mustangs

The Cullman Bearcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Madison Academy Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

On Saturday, Cullman came up short against Lincoln County and fell 8-3. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madison Academy). They blew past Priceville 16-0 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Madison Academy pushed their record up to 25-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Cullman, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.

Cullman came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison Academy in their previous matchup back in February, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
