Volleyball Recap: Minarets Mustangs vs. Liberty Hawks
Minarets lost against Liberty two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hawks 25-9 in the first set.
Minarets started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 9-25, 25-23, 25-22, 28-26.
Leading Liberty to victory were Makenzie Ward and Mckenna Steele. Ward had 21 digs and two aces, while Steele had ten digs and two aces. That's the most digs Ward has posted since back in August.
Minarets' loss dropped their record down to 11-13-1. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 20-9-1.
