Basketball Recap: Roby Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Roby was riding high fresh off their 61-34 takedown of Loraine last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Roby Lions took a hard 49-32 fall against the Westbrook Wildcats on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 39-35 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

Westbrook got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaxson Browne out in front who went 10 of 14 en route to 21 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Browne, who posted six points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Roby's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8. As for Westbrook, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Roby Lions duke it out with the Hermleigh Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westbrook, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lubbock T at 7:30 p.m.
