Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. Murray Spartans

The Hillcrest Huskies will head out to face off against the Murray Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Hillcrest took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Tooele as Hillcrest made off with a 54-30 victory. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Murray). They put the hurt on Park City with a sharp 84-62 win on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans who have now won four games in a row.

Murray pushed their record up to 9-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Hillcrest, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Hillcrest strolled past Murray in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 56-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hillcrest since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
