Volleyball Recap: Jersey Mccasland Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win

Trinity Christian had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Grace Prep on Saturday. Trinity Christian was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Grace Prep. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on October 4th.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-22, 25-22.

Trinity Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jersey McCasland, who had 22 digs and four assists. McCasland has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 23 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cecily Kaufman, who had three digs and three aces.

Trinity Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in 12 consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Grace Prep still got an impressive performance from Noelle Nelson, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Trinity Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-10 record this season. As for Grace Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-18-1.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Trinity Christian and Bishop Dunne will shake off the rust and duke it out at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
