Baseball Recap: Santaluces' Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Coral Glades, Santaluces was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over the Lake Worth Christian Defenders. The win was some much needed relief for the Chiefs as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Daniel Vargas, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jeremy Quezada also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Santaluces always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Worth Christian only posted an OBP of .167.

Santaluces picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-11. As for Lake Worth Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santaluces will welcome Palm Beach Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Palm Beach Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Lake Worth Christian, they will face off against Atlantic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Worth Christian also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 6.4 runs per game.
