Basketball Recap: Whittier Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Whittier Christian waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 65-42 margin over the El Toro Chargers.

Whittier Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leland Carrido out in front who went 10-for-14 to rack up 21 points along with six assists and five boards. The game was Carrido's third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Gage Baker, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Whittier Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Whittier Christian now has a winning record of 3-2. As for El Toro, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Whittier Christian will challenge Valencia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for El Toro, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against La Quinta at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
