Basketball Recap: Lewis-Palmer Takes a Loss

Lewis-Palmer was the 44-41 winner over Palmer Ridge when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Lewis-Palmer Rangers fell 55-47 to the Palmer Ridge Bears on Tuesday. While the Rangers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears 13-4 in the first quarter.

Loss or not, Lewis-Palmer got some senior leadership from Tommy Perez and Jacob Lowe. Perez made all 5 shots he took for 13 points, while Lowe posted eight points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. Lowe has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Will Rinnels, who put up five points.

Palmer Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Boyer led the charge by going 9-for-16 to rack up 22 points. Chaz Connors was another key player, putting up 18 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Lewis-Palmer and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Palmer Ridge, their record now sits at 9-10.

Lewis-Palmer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-40 defeat against Lutheran on the 13th. As for Palmer Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 69-53 win against Air Academy on the 13th.
