Baseball Recap: Bishop Union Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bishop Union had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Rosamond Roadrunners by a score of 8-3. That's more bragging rights for the Broncos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brayden Leeson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Leeson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Kemp, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Richie Talavera was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Bishop Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Bishop Union pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Rosamond, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

The Scorpions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
