Basketball Game Preview: Holly Springs Golden Hawks vs. Apex Friendship Patriots

Having just played yesterday, the Holly Springs Golden Hawks will jump right back in to play the Apex Friendship Patriots at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holly Springs is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.

Holly Springs is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Green Hope on Monday as Holly Springs made off with a 91-71 win. Given the Golden Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Falcons are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Apex Friendship over Cary in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Apex Friendship took down Cary 77-61.

Holly Springs pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points over those games. As for Apex Friendship, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Holly Springs didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Apex Friendship in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 63-58 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holly Springs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
