Recap: Rye Thunderbolts vs. Swallows Charter Academy Spartans
The Rye Thunderbolts gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They put the hurt on Swallows Charter Academy with a sharp 54-30 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Rye also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Rye found their leader in underclassman Eli Guzman, who scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jay Graham, who scored 2 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds.
Christian Garcia and Andrew Breedlove certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Garcia scored 8 points along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals, while Breedlove scored 11 points.
Rye's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Swallows Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Rye will look to defend their home court on Friday against Swink at 7:30 p.m. Swallows Charter Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Monte Vista at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st.
