Baseball Recap: Blue Ridge Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge was the 5-2 winner over Greer when they last played one another back in April of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Fighting Tigers fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The game marked the Fighting Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Blue Ridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Teems, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Blue Ridge has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Greer, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

Coming up, Greer is taking a road trip to take on Easley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blue Ridge will be paying especially close attention to the Yellow Jackets' game: after the Yellow Jackets faces off against the Green Wave, they'll take on Blue Ridge again at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
