Baseball Game Preview: Fairfax Stampede vs. McClintock Chargers

For the second straight game, Fairfax will face off against McClintock. The Stampede will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chargers at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfax is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Fairfax fell victim to McClintock and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Stampede's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For McClintock's part, Bradford McCurdy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts McCurdy has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Lucas Wisehart was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

McClintock's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Fairfax, they moved to 5-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

McClintock's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fairfax hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360.
